Frequently Asked Questions
What time are your services?
• 8:00 a.m. - Early Morning Worship Service
• 10:00 a.m. - Worship Service with Sunday School and Nursery available
What should I wear?
Our services are informal. While some dress up, it is not a requirement. Some come "dressed for church" while others may choose to wear jeans and a button down.
Will I be met at the door?
When you come into our lobby, an usher will greet you and be available to answer any questions you have. Attached to pews are visitor cards that we hope you'll fill out. You may put the card in the offering plate or give it to the usher or pastor as you leave.
What's a service like?
We use a printed bulletin, which outlines our service and will let you know what to expect. The following is a general description of our weekly service: We begin with a hymn while the clergy and acolytes process into the sanctuary. Children who will be going to Sunday School join the processional and follow the acolytes out of the sanctuary. Lay readers will read four selections and either the rector or one of the deacons will give the sermon. During announcements, an usher will notify the Sunday School so that the children can return to the sanctuary while we share the Peace of the Lord. The Peace is followed by the Holy Eucharist and we conclude with a final blessing.
Is there parking?
We have plenty of parking in our lot and there is also street parking available. We are close to the Quaker Lane and the King Street exits from 395.
Do you have handicapped access?
Handicapped parking spaces are located in the parking lot behind our building. The Sanctuary and Marshall-Rutter Hall are both accessible.
What about bringing children?
Please do! Children are always welcome. During the 10:00 a.m. service, we have a nursery in our Children's Chapel for those under four. Older children are invited to stay with their parents in the sanctuary or attend Sunday School.
What happens after the service?
After our service, we like to greet our visitors and catch up with one another. Join us in Marshall-Rutter Hall for coffee hour. Each week a different parishioner or team of parishioners provides coffee, tea and a tasty treat for us to enjoy.
