Acolytes

Acolytes | Altar Guild | Chalicers | Choir | Lay Eucharistic Ministers | Lay Readers | Prayer Shawl

Acolytes are the children of our congregation who assist with the worship service. They serve as examples for worshipers as well as assisting the clergy and lay ministers. Acolytes participate in all phases of the rites and ceremonies of the Church. Serving as an Acolyte, provides the children with the opportunity to act as a role model, learn our traditions, and to actively participate our services in a special and memorable way.

Acolytes must be 8 years of age to participate. All Acolytes should arrive at church by 9:30 a.m. on any Sunday where they will be taking part in the service in order to light the candles and be prepared to process with the clergy. During the service, they will attend to Sunday School with the rest of the children, but they will return to the sanctuary prior to the rest of the Sunday School class. Training may occur during the coffee hour following the 10:00 a.m. services as needed.
