What is the Vestry?

The Vestry is a group of 12 people that gather at least once a month to report the news of St. Clement that has occurred in their "Program Area." The Program Areas are: Hospitality, Worship, Outreach, Communications, Pastoral Care, Day School and Christian Education. Other positions are the elected Senior Warden, the building and grounds keeper, Junior Warden, the recording secretary or Register and the Treasurer. There is also an Alternate member who steps up when someone resigns.

Being on the Vestry is indeed commitment. It takes time and dedication. You always receive more than you give.

The Executive Committee is formed by the Sr. Warden, Jr. Warden, Register, Treasurer, an at-large-member from the Vestry and the Rector. This group plans the Vestry meetings, approves actions that are needed and helps shape the programs of the church as reflected from the congregation.
