coffee hour
After the 8 am Sunday service, Vestry member Frances
Harbour provides donuts in the Church kitchen, where
congregants enjoy coffee and fellowship.
After the 10 am service, attendees enjoy the weekly
coffee hour in Marshall-Rutter Hall. Volunteers
prepare, serve, and clean up the repast, which
includes coffee, tea, lemonade, cookies, and other
treats, such as home-made baked goods, fruit,
cheese, and crackers. It is a relaxing time, during
which parishioners catch up with each other and
welcome newcomers to St. Clements. The children
have fun, too!
If anyone is interested in participating in this fun and important ministry please sign up on the sheet in the Church kitchen. It's a great way to meet people and get involved!
Special events
The whole parish got involved in providing a reception on July 13 on the occasion of retired Bishop Mark Dyer's visit to confirm and receive three parishioners into the Episcopal Church. In addition, the LeGrand family, who are moving away, were guests of honor at the event. The church and school community celebrated Halloween with a Family Party that was attended by about 70 people. The children wore costumes and played games, and there was a pumpkin carving contest.
A Note from a Confessed 'Coffee Hour Fan' (May 31, 2006)
There is a tradition at Saint Clement to hold "coffee hour" visiting time at the end of each service. The 8 o'clockers have it down pat but the 10 o'clockers are a bit shy of volunteers to set it up.
The secret to making a good cup of perked coffee is to fill the pot to the level you want with COLD water and then put into the basket one fourth cup of coffee grounds for each five cups of perked coffee you want to make. WORKS every time!
Talk it up with a friend and sign up on the list posted on the kitchen freezer. ...your Vestry Hospitality Chairperson would love to hear from you soon I'm sure.
