The LEM Program is a special program for those who are dedicating their time to take the Church of St. Clement to others. Chalice Bearers are those who are licensed by the Bishop and allowed to serve communion at the Church services. Some have said they would take the communion blessed by the priest to those who are home/hospital/nursing-home bound. After receiving one session of three-hour training, the licensed bearer takes the communion in a special kit to the home of the person who has requested it. A short service is conducted by the LEM using the "Communion under Special Circumstances" in the Prayer Book. Other prayers and readings may be added. The person visited is left with the feeling that they have not been forgotten by their St. Clement family and the LEM is left with an indescribable feeling of receiving more than they gave.

Training is given once a year, usually in January/February. If you are interested in participating, please contact Ellen Shreve.
