A Message from the Rector

This great Holy Week and Easter time takes us through both the anguish and exultation as we witness to the passion of Our Lord, his death and glorious resurrection. The solemn as well as joyful ways that we pray in this most poignant time of our liturgical year speak to God of our awareness of his tender care as shown to us by the utter self-sacrifice of his son who became sin to free us from the bonds of our own sins. We acknowledge to our Father and to each other that we are both totally unworthy and totally grateful for the overwhelming witness of Jesus. He let go of all status and worth to take on the guise of the worst of criminals to, once and for all, get through to us that there is nothing that can separate us from the love of God our Father. He was misunderstood that we might come to understand. He was victim that we might share his victor. What can we do in return except give thanks with all our hearts and serve with all our best gifts? This is God's invitation to a radical freedom with enables us to walk and work as the beloved of God. For that is who we are. Let us pledge once more to live like we believe him.
